Pune-based automobile company, Force Motors Ltd seems to be working very hard on both its passenger and commercial vehicle segment. The company is all-set to add 2 new variants on its maiden SUV Force One, the basic model and the top-end 4×4 model with ABS option. On the other hand, the company is going to re-launch the new 2013 Force Trax Gurkha.
The 2013 Trax Gurkha has been spotted many times around Pune, now our good friends at Anything-On-Wheels has snapped pictures of the same, while the folk at MotorBash has even managed to capture the video. The new model will be re-launched in India after being taken off the market nearly three years ago with new styling and interiors, while the engine too could be a more powerful version turbo diesel motor.
In looks, the Gurkha could be confused with the Mercedes-Benz’s premium SUV, the G Wagen. That’s because Force Motors has sourced the design and styling for the Gurkha from the German automobile maker. A true-blue off-roader, the G Wagen, which costs above Rs 1 crore in India, could perhaps provide its strong chassis to the Gurkha too. Force Motors’ association with Daimler-Benz is not new and will not be limited just to the Gurkha.
Surprisingly, the 2013 Gurkha would not have the 2.2-litre FMTECH diesel engine from Force One, instead it would be a BS3 engine. Yes according to the reports is the Business Standard, the upcoming Gurkha is expected to carry the 2.6-litre diesel engine from Traveller which would belt out power output of around 80 PS and torque of 210-220 Nm.
