Spied – 2013 Force Trax Gurkha 4WD totally undisguised

2013 Force Trax Gurkha 4WD - FrontView

Just last-week we brought you the firstever spy pictures of 2013 Force Trax Gurkha 4WD with camouflaged, now our good pals at Motorbash has managed to snap red uncamouflaged test mule images of the same. As we said before, the Force Trax Gurkha 4WD is based on the legendary Mercedes Benz Gelandewagen(G-Wagen) which is built under the license from Daimler.

From the images, the changes are visible like the round headlights which replaces the earlier version’s rectangular units and flashy alloy wheels that have come off the Force One. It also gets the bonnet-mounted blinkers and sporty roof rails. Interestingly, the ‘GURKHA’ decal was not to be found anywhere on this test mule. Its place was occupied by a ‘POWER STEERING’ decal. This means Force Motors may want to drop the ‘GURKHA’ tag.

On the inside, the 2013 Gurkha is expected to get better fit and finish levels on the interiors along with creature comforts like air conditioning and power steering. The best capability of Force Trax Gurkha, which many SUVs don’t possess is that the snorkel placed ahead of the A-Pillar so that it can wade through deep puddles without taking in water.

There are speculations that the 2013 Force Trax Gurkha 4WD could borrow Mercedes sourced BS4 compliant 2.2-litre FMTECH engine from Force One, that produces a peak power of 140 Bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. Known for its bomb proof reliability and longevity, this very engine does duty on the Force Traveler people mover as well. This engine is BS4 emission norms compliant and comes mated to a five speed manual transmission.
