2012 Mahindra Xylo test mule is spotted testing in different places in India with heavy camouflaged, now thanks to our friends at TheAutoMotiveIndia for the snap of an undisguised mule of the Mahindra Xylo refresh. Earlier the revamped version of the Mahindra’s flagship model was caught doing test rounds, gearing up for the upcoming launch. However, not much could be made out as far as the exteriors are concerned due to the heavily camouflaged test mule. The utility manufacturer is probably mulling to launch the SUV in more than a single variant which includes a seven seater and an eight seater.
The longer wheelbase and the spacious interiors have always been the selling point for the car. Retaining the space and sprucing up the interiors with the right touch is expected to work miracles for the car. The car has never been a dud seller to start with. With the robust size and far economical price tag, the MPV from Mahindra has a huge advantage over the Toyota Innova. Maruti Ertiga, a new MPV from the country’s leading car manufacturer will contend directly against 2012 Xylo.
Mahindra and Mahindra will have to think twice before revising the 2012 Mahindra Xylo price. A slight increase in the price cannot be overruled in the car which presently sells in the range of Rs 7-Rs 8 lakhs. Whatever may be the case, the engine department of the new Mahindra Xylo is totally left untouched. The 2.5 L common rail turbo diesel engine will remain just the same with better power output over the present 112 Bhp peak power. The top torque churned out at the moment is 260 Nm coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
