Recently Mahindra upgraded its entire range of vehicles, expect Mahindra Xylo since its first launch. Now Mahindra has been testing a mini-Xylo for quite some time and the normal Xylo too is being tested with upgrades. The facelifted version of the Mahindra Xylo MPV has been caught on camera by a Team-Bhpian. While the spy shot shows a heavily camouflaged Xylo, changes to the exterior are not discernible due to the heavy camouflaging.
The Mahindra Xylo is the second largest selling MPV in India and though its sales haven’t been big enough to knock the best selling Toyota Innova off its perch at the top, the Xylo has comprehensively outsold the Tata Grande MPV to emerge as the second largest selling MPV in India, though a distant second behind the Innova.
The camouflage is so heavy that any of the exterior changes is not visible but believing in the claims of the person who spotted it, the interiors have shown a brilliant improvement over its ongoing model. The same was very much expected as Toyota Innova 2012 model and Maruti Suzuki’s new MPV Maruti Ertiga are also gearing up for their respective launches.
Interestingly two models were spotted having different seating arrangements where one is believed to be a 5 seater while the other an 8 seater. What surprises us is that both the models spotted have a different rear and one of them gets a spare tyre attached.
Mahindra and Mahindra will have to think twice before revising the 2012 Mahindra Xylo price. A slight increase in the price cannot be overruled in the car which presently sells in the range of Rs 7-Rs 8 lakhs. Whatever may be the case, the engine department of the new Mahindra Xylo is totally left untouched. The 2.5 L common rail turbo diesel engine will remain just the same with better power output over the present 112 Bhp peak power. The top torque churned out at the moment is 260 Nm coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
