Here it is then, the new Skoda Kodiaq, which made its official debut at Berlin on September 01, 2016. The first-ever 7-seater SUV from the Czech brand is destined to arrive in India in September-2017.
In terms of design, the production-spec Kodiaq looks similar to concept showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March this year, with plenty of contoured surfaces all over the body panels which make it look aggressive, as are all the new-generation Skoda cars. It is longer than the Audi Q5, measuring 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide, 1,667 mm tall and has a 2,791 mm wheelbase.
Inside, there is a familiar Skoda styling, yet has a unique look altogether. A large central display bisects the dashboard into two separate areas for the driver and passenger. An Swing infotainment system with a 6.5-inch capacitive touchscreen comes as standard with Bluetooth and Skoda SmartLink (incorporating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink). It comes in 5-seater or 7-seater configurations.
In terms of power-tain, the Kodiaq will have 3 TSI petrol and 2 TDI diesel engine options to choose from and 6-speed manual and DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission choices to select from. Other noteworthy features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, driver alert system, trailer control assist, travel assist, and traffic sign recognition system.
