The farmers in Maharashtra are facing a tough times because of a water shortage this-year. This situation year in Maharashtra has forced thousands of farmers to abandon their farms & villages and migrate to cities in search of relief. Thus, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s NGO, Being Human Foundation and Suzuki 2-Wheelers have joined hands to provide relief to the farmers and their families in times of difficulty.
This initiative by Being Human and Suzuki Motors will offer donated 100 good quality water tanks each with a storage capacity of 2,000 litres to drought-hit people in Beed, Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad and Nanded in the past few days. These water tanks are sourced from Nagpur and will be handed over to the respective district collectors for quick implementation.
Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, said, “The farmers of Maharashtra have been hit by the worst drought in decades. Through our limited efforts, we are trying to extend a helping hand and a ray of hope to the drought victims. We sincerely hope and wish for the weather conditions to improve and the dry spell to end.”
“This is the worst kind of natural disaster Maharashtra has faced in recent times. Through this initiative, we hope to provide relief to some of the most affected districts. A special thanks to Suzuki two-wheelers for their support towards making this initiative a success.” Superstar Salman Khan said.
