MG eZs is an all-electric variant of the MG ZS SUV, which is similar in size as Hyundai Creta and would directly take on the Hyundai Kona electric.

The eZS is reportedly slated for launch in October-2019, after the Hector. It will be an all-electric SUV, the first in the Indian mass market. The eZS is derived from MG’s crossover-SUV, the ZS sold in various markets globally.

MG Motor India will supply the eZS to India via the CBU route. This would also mean the automaker will try to rectify it’s slightly expensive price tag. The eZS will consist of features like a panoramic sunroof, diamond-cut alloy wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system, park assist and a 360-degree camera.

Engine-wise, the eZS will come powered by a single-electric motor, giving 148 BHP of power and 350 Nm of torque. The battery range of the vehicle is not yet known, but the automaker claims that of nearly 430 km. It is enough for the eZS to reach from 0-50 kmph in about 3.2 seconds.

The eZS is expected to be priced at around Rs. 15-20 lakh when it gets launched. MG will hope that customers will warm up to the eZS and accept it with open arms here. We can expect many major automakers to tap into the electric SUV segment, which currently is of huge potential here.
