Ford is considering a new MPV for India, according to report by AutoCarIndia. The vehicle might be based on the Marazzo Mahindra.
The report states that it is expected that Ford’s Marazzo version will have a different exterior. A new dashboard and Ford’s Sync infotainment system are expected to be available. The report claims that it is possible to offer the MPV in two configurations: 7-seater and 8-seater.
While the new MPV is going to share its foundations with the Marazzo, Ford is likely to tune the suspension differently. It might get the same 1.5-liter diesel engine as the Marazzo, though. It is also said that a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol unit is under production. Manual or automated manual transmission (AMT) options could be available to the MPV.
Ford and Mahindra formed a joint venture earlier this year to work together on new models and EVs. It is suspected that the Ford MPV located in Marazzo is part of this.
