2015 Raid-de-Himalaya to be flagged-off on October 9, 2015

The 17th Raid-de-Himalaya will commence of the 9th of October, 2015. The rally will be flagged-off at Shimla streching along the scenic terrains of Manali, Dalhousie, Rangdum and will end with a price distribution ceremony at Centaur Lakeside SKICC, Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir.

This year Raid-de-Himalaya has seen a record participation of over 150 motorsport enthusiasts including 10 women participants which is highest so far with an average of 5. The participants will have to cover a total distance of approximately 2000 km in 6 days. The rally is split into Adventure and X-treme and is not just about driving skills, but also is a test of both the mental and physical strength of the participants as it puts them through some of the extreme Himalayan weather condition at an altitude of 15000 ft and night temperatures dropping to as low as -21 Celsius. To make rally even more challenging nine times winner of Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya and three times winner of Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally Suresh Rana, will be participating to raise the bar higher for the other drivers.

Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya is one of the two off-road motor rallies from India listed in the annual motorsport calendar of Switzerland based Federation Internationale Automobile (FIA) and Federation Internationale Motorcyclisme (FIM). The Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya will be run in compliance with the International Sporting Code of the FIA, National Competition Rules (NCR) & General Prescriptions of the FMSCI.
