Maruti Suzuki India just last-week announced the launch of new top-end Z+ variants of the Ciaz sedan. This new Z+ variants is available on both, the petrol and diesel versions and replaces the Z(O) variant that was available since the car’s launch in October-2014.
The Z+ variants come with 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Z+ variants carries forward the features from the Z variants and a adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, which doubles up as a display for the reverse parking camera. This system, called SmartPlay by Maruti, also features a voice command function. Furthermore, the Z+ variants get leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Priced at Rs 9.81 lakh for the ZXI+ (Petrol variant) and Rs 10.37 lakh for the ZDI+ (Diesel variant) (All Ex-Showroom Prices New Delhi). Ever since the launch, the Ciaz has been a strong player in the segment, slotting into second place, only after the Honda City.
Mechanically, the car remained unaltered and is powered by the same 1.4-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine (based on Fiat Multijet). Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while petrol is also offered with a 4-speed automatic. With the addition of the Z+ variants, the Ciaz now all-together has eleven variants, seven petrol and four diesel.
