Renault India has announced the arrival of the Lodgy, a seven-seater MPV priced ranging from Rs. 8.19 lakh to Rs. 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The people carrier, the sixth model in the company’s lineup, is also Renault’s first MPV for the Indian market.
The 4.5 metre-long vehicle – which will be made at $1 billion plant of Renault India in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu – can be specified with either 7- or 8-seater configurations and can be ordered with captain seats or bench-type seat for the middle row. It gets tray tables for captain seats, whereas the bench gets an integrated centre armrest with cup-holders. You can tumble the second row seats, and twin tumble the third row, if you want even more boot space.
The Lodgy has a massive on-road presence & oodles of space inside the cabin as well.
At point of launch, the Lodgy will be offered in single engine option – 1.5-litre 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine, but in two states of tune. The 85 PS churns 200 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission while the 110 PS makes 245 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 85 PS version offers 21.04 kmpl and the 110 PS version returns 19.98 kmpl, as per ARAI tests.
The Lodgy will be well-equipped features like driver seat height adjust, keyless entry, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth and AUX connectivity; manual AC with roof mounted air-con vents for the second and third row, anti-pinch power windows and power sockets for all three rows.
There’s also ABS, EBD and brake assist as standard, with cruise control, speed limiter, rear view camera, parking sensors and central locking available as an option, and the Lodgy comes with equipped with dual front airbags, these being driver and front passenger units. Indian buyers will get to take their pick of the new MPV from seven variants, with prices ranging from Rs. 8.19 lakh to Rs. 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
