The French carmaker, Renault India has started exports of the Duster to UK and Ireland markets from its production site in Chennai, India. The first batch of shipment comprising 350 units of its popular SUV – the Renault Duster, it was shipped from the Ennore port in Chennai today. The Duster that has been produced at the Chennai plant will be sold as a Dacia in Europe.
The Dacia Duster will be available on-sale in Britain from January 2013 across 127 Renault dealerships that are equipped with dedicated space and sales persons to sell the Duster SUV. It will be launched in 3 trims namely; Access, Ambiance and Laureate. And the bookings for the Duster have already started in June, 2012 and it has over 1,000 pre-orders listed down already with a deposit of £100.
The Dacia Duster will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol mill or a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine and comes with a 3 year warranty.
