Ratan Tata says LaFerrari is too expensive for him

Tata at the Geneva Auto Show

The Italian supercar manufacture Ferrari introduced its latest edition the LaFerrari at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show. Although the car looks similar to the other Ferrari`s there is an important change under the hood. This would be the first Ferrari to have hybrid engine. A 6.3-litre v12 engine and the electric motor that can deliver up to 963HP on roads at a whooping speed of 350kmph.

It was his love and passion for Ferrari that tempted Ratan Tata to visit the Geneva Motor Show and was really impressed by the carbon fibre beauty, but when asked if he would buy one he jokingly said, the car was too expensive for him to buy. The car is priced a astounding 1 million euros or $1.3 million dollars, that’s approximately Rs. 9.3 crores (exclusive of taxes). Now that`s a lot of money.

Ferrari plans to make only 499 units of the La Ferrari and even before it hits the showroom, its already sold-out. Not just that there are also many enthusiasts who have been denied. Amongst the few buyers of the La Ferrari is Montezemolo, who is a very close friend to Ratan Tata and also happens to be the chairman of Ferrari.
