Porsche has unveiled the Panamera Sport Turismo concept car at the 2012 Paris Motor Show to indicate how amazingly intelligent and efficient drive technology might look in the design language of tomorrow. While the concept may showcase the green technologies Porsche is working on the body, Porsche says, “is an outlook on a possible Porsche sports car of tomorrow.”
The Panamera Sport Turismo concept has the new Boxster-derived headlamps with an outline looking like the Cayenne. There are no external rear view mirrors and instead, the Sport Turismo has two cameras on the side air outlets, the images of which are displayed inside the cabin. Tail-lamps are one of the classiest elements in the new Panamera Sport Turismo with an all-LED setup.
Power for the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept comes from a plug-in hybrid system setup that the company calls ‘e-hybrid.’ Working together the system produces a total of 416-hp, can drive in pure electric mode up to a speed of 130 kmph and it has a fuel efficiency of approximately 27kmpl. This concept car accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in less than six seconds.
As a plug-in hybrid model, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept can be fully charged in 2.5 hours (depending on the output of your outlet). The hybrid drivetrain used is similar to the one used in the Panamera and Cayenne.
When will we see a production version of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept on the roads? No official word from the brand yet.
