Last month, 2012 Delhi Auto Expo has showcased many new bikes from all across world. One of the main attractions was KTM Duke 200 and Aprilia RS4 125. These two bikes are set to hit Indian roads very soon. Some other companies that will be paving their way to the Indian roads are Piaggio and Triumph. There are news inputs Piaggio is bracing its self to give a stiff competition to Aprilia and KTM. Piaggio, one of the largest two-wheeler producer in Europe, keeping a close eye on Indian two-wheel automobile market and also on the new entrants in the industry.
Aprilia RS4 125 is a smaller version of the globally, similarly KTM has Duke 125, but when launching in India, KTM planned for much more powered bike, so they came up with KTM Duke 200 for India. RS4 125 is all set to get new engine of 200cc from Piaggio, which will help Aprilia to compete with closest rival KTM. The decision of finalizing the engine is not confirmed yet. Aprilia RS4 will be sold through Piaggio showrooms in India. At the moment Aprilia RS4 sale is very low with only 6-7 models a year, and the Aprilia RS4 company officials thought it is not viable for the company to have a separate showroom for Aprilia RS4, so they decided to sell their products through another Italian company Piaggio.
The RS4 125 is from Aprilia, who have a racing culture, and RS4 125 is proper racing sports bike, RS4 125 has a 4 stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, engine that generates more than 15 bhp of maximum power. RS4 125 has a manual gear box with six gears, and come with wet clutch plates. The vehicle moves on 17 inch tyres. RS4 125 has instant breaking, as it is fitted with 300 mm disc in the front and 218 mm disc at the back.
