Peugeot wants to waste no time in entering the Indian car market for its second innings with its hatchback car, known as Peugeot 207. If reports are to be believed, Peugeot will soon launch Peugeot 207 hatchback in India for just Rs. 5 Lakh. This car is at present being tested by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). Earlier, Peugeot 207 was also spotted on the roads of India, during its test run. Now, Peugeot has already finalised manufacturing unit in Gujarat which is already the hometown of many of the manufacturers in India, is where Peugeot Citroen duo will plant their facility in.
For the time being, Peugeot is making its debut by testing Peugeot 207 under the ARAI for conformity. The Automotive Research Association of India will ensure that Peugeot 207 hatchback meets up all the set norms. But, in case, it fails to do so, Peugeot will be informed about the necessary changes that have to be made in order to make this car faultless and perfect. According to the rumors, Peugeot is planning to officially launch Peugeot 207 hatchback in India by the year 2012. The Peugeot 207 price will be around Rs. 5 Lakh or so, which is pretty competitive.
Now, as far as the Peugeot 207 specifications are concerned, the car will come loaded with variety of features, such as spontaneous direction indicators, one touch action for driver’s electric window, remote controlled window closure and Bluetooth system. Peugeot 207 will be launched in two variants, petrol and diesel. Therefore, it can be said that Peugeot 207 will be a stiff competition to other premium small cars in the Indian car market, such as Hyundai i20 and Maruti Swift.
