Japanese car maker Nissan plans to display a sub-370Z electric sports car at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show in November. The car is based upon the Nissan Esflow concept displayed at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. So far it’s not clear if this one will hit the production line or will be a concept of Nissan`s electrical technologies.
Speaking to the Australian press Mr. Andy Palmer, executive vice president of Nissan said: “We think that there is room below the 370Z for something very special. And for that we will see you at Tokyo. I think there is room for both petrol-electric hybrid and pure electric.”
The Esflow displayed 2 years back was an electric vehicle running on laminated lithium-ion batteries powered by two motors producing 107 hp each. The concept can do a 0 to 100 kph in just 5 seconds, and can go up to 240 km before running out of power.
So far the exact details of the sub-370Z is not yet disclosed, and Nissan wants to keep it till the Tokyo Motor Show.
