The Nissan Sunny in India is being sold in international markets under different names like the Versa in the U.S. and Almera in Australia. The company has received a number of good reviews in markets where it has been launched in the past. Keeping up this trend, Nissan has launched the Sunny, known as Almera in Malaysian car markets.
More interestingly, Nissan has also launched the Impul body kit with an array of aerodynamic and visual add-ons which can be had at an additional RM 9,500 (around Rs. 1.69 lakhs). The Impul body kit features a new grille, sports rims, IMPUL Blast 2 exhaust muffler, 17-inch IMPUL Aura SX-20 rims and IMPUL Complete Aerokit Rear Wing Spoiler are now part of the vehicle’s exterior. Touch screen multimedia system along with optional ‘Premium Navi’ pack is also available.
Under the skin, the vehicle gets the Impul Sports Suspension System which is lower and improves the handling of the car. The Super Cast applied by Impul saves upto 20-30% weight off of the rims compared to the standard process, resulting in a better, safer and more comfortable vehicle performance. The vehicle also gets Impul blast 2 exhaust muffler for a sporty exhaust note.
The Price range of Nissan Almera in Malaysia is between RM 66,800 (Rs 11.87 lakhs) to RM 79,800 (Rs 14.19 lakhs). Price includes taxes and assorted charges. It’s powered by a similar 1.5-litre petrol engine which is seen in the Indian variant and is connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Mileage for this model is recorded at 15.9 kmpl.
The 4-speed automatic transmission also available provides one with mileage statistics of 14.9 kmpl due to lowered frictional losses. Torque and power output figures stand at 139 Nm and 102 PS respectively. We can expect the automatic variant of Nissan Sunny to be launched in the Indian market soon, followed by the Renault Scala.
