Nissan India gets a whopping 6000 bookings for its new Terrano SUV

Nissan India just yesterday launched the much awaited Terrano SUV alias Nissan Duster. However, it is now revealed that pre-launch bookings for the new Nissan Terrano SUV have resulted in over 6000 already, this leads to a long waiting period of 2 month. And the bookings are overwhelmed even before the prices are revealed, which shows that Nissan Terrano has already started showing-up signs of its popularity.

The Terrano although not priced competitively, compared to its rivals has managed to grasp the competition. Launched at a starting price of Rs 9.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), the car has some in a total three engine options and 7 variants. The Terrano is being produced from the company plant in Oragadam, Chennai. Production capacity of Terrano currently stands at 3,000 units per month.

The main plus point of Terrano to grasp 6000 bookings is due to the host of features and accessories being offered by the company even where the base model is concerned. These include driver airbags, steering mounted audio controls and a touchscreen multimedia system. The third-row optional seating adds as a bonus to the Terrano, although bit cramped for adult passengers, it does serve the purpose for child travellers.

Speaking at the launch event yesterday, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations, said, “Terrano perfectly embodies our spirit of delivering innovation and excitement to our customers. It proudly carries forward the legacy established by our SUVs like Pathfinder and Patrol. We are confident that Terrano’s stylish exterior, premium interior and a well-balanced dynamic package will appeal to SUV lovers in India. Terrano is an important product for us and will set the pace for future product launches slated for 2014.”
