Is Ninja 250cc Kawasaki’s upcoming single-cylinder motorcycle?

Along with the introduction of Z1000 and Z1000SX at the 2013 EICMA, Kawasaki had also unveiled the 2014 Ninja 400 in the month of November last year. With the increasing demands for larger capacity bikes in India has made the Japanese automaker Kawasaki very serious about Indian market launching 5 bikes in the sub-continent last year with 3 more confirmed for launch in 2014.

As per the reports obtained earlier a rumored single-cylinder Kawasaki bike was spotted in Indonesia which as per the reports obtained now across the cyber space is expected to be launched in two avatars, the faired version will be called the 250SL RR Mono, while the naked edition will be called the 250SL Mono. The faired version is expected to inherit the styling cues from the Ninja 300 along with featuring single headlights instead of the double units found in the new Ninja 250. Kawasaki has planned to introduce this new single-cylinder bike in order to compete the likes of the Austrian motorcycle maker KTM.

Since the bike has already been spotted uncamouflaged, we could expect the launch of this new bike pretty soon after which it would be available in the Indian market in the second half of this year. The upcoming single-cylinder Ninja 250SL series is rumoured to be priced at around INR 2 lakhs. Information regarding the technical specifications of this new bike is not yet available.
