Hyundai are expected to launch the second generation of their popular hatchback, the Grand i10, to the Indian market soon. According to reports, the new Grand i10 will arrive here in mid-2019. Recently, the hatchback was clicked by AutoSpy & RavenAvi of TeamBHP forum undergoing testing in Pune.
We can see the next generation Grand i10 covered in heavy camouflage, looking larger and wider than its predecessor. The next generation Grand i10, the vehicle will feature a new set of tail-lamps and a slanting roofline. It will also get a new interior layout in touch with many future Hyundai’s.
The next generation Grand i10 will be one of the first models in Hyundai’s current line-up to undergo a major change. It will be underpinned by an all-new platform, which will debut in the upcoming Qxi compact SUV. The Carlino concept-based Qxi will be launched in early 2019.
On the engine front, the Grand i10 is likely to carry the same set of engines seen on the current model. These include a 1.2-litre petrol motor producing 75 BHP of power and 190 Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre diesel motor giving 83 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both these engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with an automatic being offered as an option.
Hyundai are also considering a CNG version of the new Grand i10 after seeing good demand for the Santro CNG. When launched, the second generation Grand i10 will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 and the Ford Figo. Prices are expected to begin from Rs.5 lakh and go all the way to the Rs.9 lakh mark for the fully-loaded versions of the car.
