Hyundai has already started testing the next-generation of their popular hatchback, the Grand i10 in the Indian market. As per reports, we can expect it to be introduced after the launch of the QXi sub-4-metre compact SUV in April-2019. Recently, the car was spied undergoing testing in a production-ready form somewhere in India.
We can see an increase in length as well as the size compared to the current Grand i10. Of course, the car will definitely fit under the 4-metre mark to get tax benefits. Other features include wider tail-lamps, new wheel arches and machine cut alloys, indicating that it is the top-end variant of the hatchback.
Design-wise, the car will be based on Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design language. There is no confirmation yet regarding the engine options of the car. But we can expect the car to come with an AMT transmission instead of the current 4-speed torque converter.
The next-gen Grand i10 is expected to be high on the features list as well, like the current model. These include keyless entry, rear parking camera, a floating-type touchscreen infotainment system and so on. As far as safety is concerned, the new Grand i10 will have a child safety lock, dual airbags and ABS with EBD.
Prices are expected to start from Rs. 5 lakh and go all the way to Rs. 8 lakh. The next-gen Grand i10 will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and the Mahindra KUV100. We can expect the next-gen Grand i10 to continue the big-selling streak that the current model has created over the years.
