There is just nowhere for the upcoming next-gen 2017 Hyundai Verna to hide anymore, it seems – the new sedan has once again been spotted completely undisguised in China, ahead of its expected world premiere at Auto China 2016 in Beijing.
These photos, obtained from Chinese portal AutoHomeChina, give us the clearest look yet at the new Hyundai Verna. The Korean-carmaker had first previewed the new Verna in concept avatar at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show in April. The new car’s design stays faithful to that of the concept and is more Audi like than ever.
However, the light clusters, grille, bumpers and wheels have been toned-down in terms of styling to fit the production-spec model. It is reported to measure 4,380 mm in length, 1,728 mm in width, 1,460 mm in height and 2,600 mm in wheelbase. On the inside, the top-end model will feature 6 airbags, automatic climate control, touch screen infotainment system with navigation and leather upholstery.
From the spyshots, the 2 variants of the car are seen – the lower variant gets halogen headlights and small steel wheels, while the higher variant comes with LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, foglights, larger alloy wheels, a sunroof, chrome door handles with keyless entry button and tinted windows.
The next-gen Verna is expected to be offered with a choice of four-cylinder petrol motors in China. But when launched in India by early-2017, the new Verna is likely to carry forward the existing range of petrol and diesel engines. Like the current model, it would be pitted against the Honda City, the Maruti Ciaz, the Fiat Linea, the Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Rapid.
