New Volkswagen Jetta facelift by IAB’s Shoeb
Volkswagen India launched sixth-generation Jetta in 2011, since than the car has not been updated. Now the sources close to us suggest that VW India is all-set to launch the refreshed Jetta anytime soon, instead of January-2014. While the car has been registering decent sales figures, the arrival of the new 2013 Skoda Octavia has worsen things a bit for its VW sibling. Thus, we are not surprised with the launch of Jetta facelift for our market.
The changes on the Jetta facelift are purely cosmetic with a new headlight cluster, similar to the ones on the larger Jetta hybrid with its daytime running LEDs arranged in an L-shaped manner. Xenon headlights will feature on the Highline variant along with a headlight washer. However, the design on the grille, bumpers and tail lights will remain unchanged. The Trendline and Comfortline trim levels will also get a new set of new design ‘Sedona’ alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Jetta facelift will get automatic climate control as an standard feature across all the variants. Bit of the chrome will be added around the car to make it feel premium. The engine options are likely to remain unchanged and the Jetta will boast of a 1.4-litre petrol motor and a 2.0-litre oil burner.The transmission options for this engine will include a six-speed DSG automatic and a six-speed manual gearbox.
