New Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS (Naked Sport) has alot of firsts in the segment and will live on its promise of being high on power, fun and affordability. Its engine comes with three sparks tech rather than the customary dual or twin spark Indian bikes are fitted with. Bajaj will introduce triple spark new technology in their new bikes, and older Pulsar bikes will not get this upgrade. The new Pulsar 200NS joins the existing range of Pulsar motorcycles, the 135cc, 150cc, 180cc and 220cc.
Sporting a 199.5 cc 4V engine, the new Pulsar 200 NS will record max power of 23 bhp @ 9,500 rpm and will maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Top speed is pegged at 136 kmph, which makes the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS amongst the fastest Indian two wheelers by Bajaj.
The new Pulsar goes from 0-60 kmph in just 3.61 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 9.8 seconds. If driven at a constant of 55 kmph, mileage attained would be 58 kmpl, making the bike rather fuel efficient given today’s vehicular traffic constraints n Indian roads.
New Pulsar 200 NS comes with disc brakes on the front and rear wheel. Ground clearance is marked at 167 mm, and the bike has a kerb weight at 145 kgs. There’s a 12 liter fuel tank, and the bike runs on 10 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels. You’ll spot the telescopic fork affront and Nitrox mono-shock suspension at the rear. Dry weight for the new Pulsar 200 NS is 145 kgs. Bike enthusiasts can look forward to Bajaj introducing a bigger engine Pulsar soon as the company is working on a 350cc engine Pulsar two wheeler that they would start selling in 2013.
The commercial launch would take place in April 2012, and as such no revelations have been made regarding its price range. We expect the new Pulsar to be price Rs. 90,000 because the company officially stated price so far is “Under one lakh”. The new Pulsar 200NS will be manufactured alongside Bajaj’s range of existing Pulsars bikes, and the KTM Duke at their Chakan plant.
