Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) Pvt. Ltd have recently opened bookings for the new CBR 650R. The company will accept Rs. 15,000 as booking amount for customers across the country. Honda will launch the premium sportsbike soon, with reports stating that could happen in March or April.
The CBR 650R was first showcased during the EICMA 2018. It weighs at around 6 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Despite that, the motorcycle will be having an updated and more performance-oriented chassis and a more attractive design.
The CBR 650R will be offered with features such as an all-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, clip-on handlebars, USD front forks, ABS and so on. It will be available in two colour options, namely Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. Honda claims that the design of the CBR 650R is inspired from the new Fireblade.
Lot of attention to detail has been given to the engine as well. The CBR 650R comes powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder DOHC engine. This engine is capable of producing 95 BHP of power and 64 Nm of torque.
Honda states that the new CBR 650R gets a power increment of 5 per cent compared to the previous model. Prices are likely to be at around the Rs. 8 lakh mark. When launched, the CBR 650R will rival the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Suzuki GSX-S750 and the Triumph Street Triple S.
