Mitsubishi will look to bring back the Outlander nameplate to India after 5 years. The automaker has confirmed bookings for the SUV recently. The Outlander, currently in its third-generation, and is expected to come here in mid-June 2018.
Upcoming India-Spec Mitsubishi Outlander is available only in 7-seater version.
The Outlander will follow Mitsubishi’s new design language, having a large chrome grille, called the Dynamic Shield. This SUV gets LED projector units, fog-lamps and tail-lamps at the rear. Mitsubishi has given the Outlander a set of 18-inch alloy wheels and a bigger stance than the model seen before here.
On the interior, the Outlander gets a 6.1-inch touchscreen with a Rockford Fosgate audio system. Features include a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric park brake with auto hold function and so on. The Outlander will be available in 7 colour options namely Black Pearl, Orient Red, Cosmic Blue, White Solid, White Pearl, Cool Silver and Titanium Grey.
In India, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander will be on-sale in one single configuration.
Coming to the engine, the Outlander will only be offered in a 2.4 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine can produce 165 BHP of power and 222 Nm of Torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed CVT Transmission having paddle shifters.
The Outlander is expected to come at a price of around Rs. 30 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom). It will rival the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson in its class. Let us all hope that the Outlander gloves perform well so that it may tempt Mitsubishi to bring other models for the Indian market.
