First uncamouflaged shots of the Mahindra Genio pick-up facelift have surfaced on the web, although the exact location spotted is unknown judging by the number plate, we can see its a Telangana-registered vehicle.
The facelift is immediately recognisable has the vehicle received very significant changes to its front fascia, compared to the current-model the upcoming Genio facelift looks very fresh. It gets a re-styled with a honeycomb mesh grille with silver highlights for the 5-toothed structures and the headlamps are now slimmer smoked ones.
The bonnet has more pronounced creases than before, while the circular foglight enclosures get chrome embellishments. Earlier only three colours were on offer – Silver, White and Brown, what we see here the Blue might be the new colour. The spyshots shows the single-cab Genio, while the double cab facelift version is likely to be on-sale.
The Genio facelift is expected to carry over the 2.5-litre diesel engine from the current Genio. This engine produces 75 BHP and 220 Nm of torque. Gearbox is a five-speed manual. The company might offer micro hybrid start-stop system to enhance its fuel efficiency as well.
For export markets, the Genio gets 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine developing 120 BHP of power and 280 Nm of torque. Unlike the Indian version, it gets an option of 4WD variant.
