Volvo Auto India today propelled the Volvo V40 hatchback in two variations – Kinetic and R-Design – at a starting price of Rs 24.75 lakhs. The Volvo V40 Kinetic costs Rs 24.75 lakhs whereas the Volvo V40 R-Design costs Rs 27.7 lakhs.
The V40 hatchback shares its 2.0-liter four-chamber diesel motor with the V40 Cross Country. This D3 unit is fit for 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque, and exchanges energy to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Only a diesel unit is available on the V40 and until further notice, the petrol variation will be offered just on the V40 Cross Country.
Both variations of the V40 are outfitted with the Adaptive Digital Display Console, auto bending headlights, climate control, leather seats and LED daytime running lights. The V40 gets a pedestrial airbag also which happens to be the first for its class. It has 8 airbags for safety in addition to ABS and EBD.
Volvo cars are seen as the safest ones playing on the roads and the V40 hatcback isn’t much different either. It will be going up against the likes of Mercedes A-Class and BMW 1-Series.
