Few details of the much anticipated Tata Nano Diesel has already been read in our previous posts at BharathAutos. In order to keep our dear readers updated here are some more details about the diesel version of Tata Nano which is expected to launch in 2014. Like the current petrol variant, the diesel variant is also expected to be the world’s least priced car. The diesel version of Nano would be incorporated with turbocharged diesel engine sourced from Garett which has already been spotted in the Tata Ace Dicor.
From the spy pics available all over the web in one of which the open bonnet clearly specifies that the diesel version of Nano would continue to have spare wheel and fuel filling at the front with engines at the rear as the petrol version. Apart from this the diesel Nano is expected to have a revised bumper in order to accumulate the bulkier diesel engine and also some minor changes than the petrol versions such as the exhaust pipe has been moved to the left from the center. Coming to the technical specifications, this new turbocharged diesel engine would be an 800 cc engine which would provide a maximum power of 40 Bhp at a maximum torque of 51 Nm. The diesel variant is expected to be 50000 Rupees more than its existing petrol version and would also provide a fuel efficiency of 40 Kmpl.
