Mercedes-Benz has launched the yet another addition to its AMG range in India, the new Mercedes-AMG SLC (facelifted SLK) 2-door convertible priced at Rs. 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Here only the range-topping AMG model, the SLC 43 is launched in the country. Unlike the old top-end SLK with the normally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 engine, the new range-topper gets a downsized 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, albeit turbocharged. This unit spits-out 362 BHP and 520 Nm of torque, paired to the company’s new 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT allows selection of 5 different drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and individual. It can sprint from 0-100 KMPH in just 4.7 seconds and can touch a top-speed of 250 KMPH. Although the new engine has undergone a massive downsizing, it does not fail to impress with better fuel efficiency figures and ample power.
The styling changes brought about for the SLC are quite subtle. In front, there’s a new bumper and standard-fit diamond radiator grille as well as revised headlamp design with integral LED daytime running lights, while the back also gets a reworked bumper design, integral tail-pipe trim and redesigned, slimmer tail lights with new graphics.
Noteworthy features include an 18-inch alloy/tyre combinations, intelligent LED headlights, COMAND infotainment and communication system, premium leather upholstery and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. The roadster is offered with ambient lighting in shades of polar blue, solar red and polar white. The foldable rooftop can be operated at speeds of upto 40 KMPH.
