McLaren P1 supercar unveiled, ahead of United Arab Emirates debut

British sports car manufacturer McLaren Automotive, have released an official pictures of the new McLaren P1, taken at the Bahrain International Circuit, ahead of its arrival in the United Arab Emirates on Monday (February 18). McLaren Automotive and Al Habtoor Motors’ executives are set to welcome VIP guests to its UAE unveil at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa.

The new images of the striking design study were taken at the Bahrain International Circuit – the home of motorsport in the Middle East.  Bahrain is the Middle East base for McLaren, and is also home of its majority shareholder, Mumtalakat. North America, likely to be the biggest market for the car, has already figured on the tour. The Middle East is expected to be another vital market.

Not more than 500 P1s will be built, but the run of the hypercar is yet to sell out.

Designed with one aim in mind, to simply be the best driver’s car in the world, on road and track, the McLaren P1TM is one of the decade’s most highly anticipated cars.  Inspired by Formula 1 engineering, it will offer exceptional aerodynamics, amazing performance and bespoke design for every owner, said the company.

It is speculated that McLaren P1 will have a power-to-weight ratio of over 600bhp per tone producing power output of around 720bhp. The car will ultilise hybrid technology. Interior of this car is stripped out and made primarily of carbonfibre. Equipment of this automobile is digital and boasts sat-nav & climate control and a bespoke sound system. Programme director at McLaren& Paul Mackenzie & claims that despite P1’s performance& it can still be driven with great comfort and convenience.

“After a successful launch in Bahrain, we are very excited to be bringing the McLaren P1™ to the United Arab Emirates, where our retail partner, Al Habtoor Motors, has confirmed huge interest in this unique car. This year marks our 50th year anniversary, so it is apt that we are gearing up to launch a car that we feel will redefine the parameters for performance, on both circuit and road. This is why we have released these unique and stunning images, taken at the BIC, a location absolutely fitting for this supercar. ”
