Maruti Suzuki have revealed that their compact SUV, the Vitara Brezza has clocked another milestone in its successful tenure here. This is of selling as many as 5.5 Lakh units of the car since its launch. What makes it remarkable is that the milestone was achieved in a span of just 55 months.
Launched in March 2016, sales of the Vitara Brezza have gone from strength to strength since then. This has made the compact SUV a household name in the top selling cars each month almost everytime. Despite the launch of newer and more affordable rivals in its segment, there has been little decline in the sales numbers of the car.
As of now, the Vitara Brezza is expectedly one of the most in demand compact SUV’s in the market. During its time here, the Vitara Brezza has received a couple of facelifts, most notably one in March 2020. In fact, Maruti Suzuki have managed to sell around 32,000 units of the car during the last six months.
The Vitara Brezza is now available with only a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder, K-Series petrol motor, with its diesel counterpart being axed by the automaker. This petrol motor is capable enough of delivering 103 BHP of power and 138 Nm of torque. It comes mated with options of a 5-speed manual and a new 4-speed automatic transmission.
It comes with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVM’s, reverse parking camera and so on. Safety-wise, the Vitara Brezza comes with features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD. It is said to be delivering an overall fuel efficiency of 17.03 kmpl for the manual variant, as rated by ARAI.
The automatic version in turn gives an overall mileage of 18.76 kmpl, which is quite good now. Prices for the compact SUV start from Rs.7.34 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Vitara Brezza competes with the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and the newly introduced Kia Sonet in its segment.
