Maruti Suzuki being the No.1 passenger car manufacturer in the Indian market is now preparing for the launch of its new Sedan Ciaz in October this year. Although Maruti did not obtain the decent sales required for its SX4 due to high pricing and less features, now it expects its new Sedan Ciaz to cope up the sales competing the other leaders in this segment such as Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
Upcoming Maruti Ciaz features 16 inch alloy wheels, chrome grille in the front, new design elements on the bumpers to include large headlamps, ABS, front two airbags, rear AC vents, keyless entry and start, retractable blind for rear wind screen. It also features spacious cabin interiors, dark wood inserts to the dashboard as already seen in the Swift Dzire, climate control system and multifunctional large touch screen display.
Unlike the other Maruti Cars which comes in 3 variants, Maruti Ciaz will be available in 4 variants. The petrol version comprises of VXI, VXI+, ZXI and ZXI+ whereas the diesel version will comprise of VDI, VDI+, ZDI and ZDI+. Maruti Suzuki has already opened its bookings for Ciaz mid-sized premium Sedan officially from 3rd Sept 2014. It is expected to hit the Indian market at a price tag ranging between INR 7.5-10 Lakhs. As per the reports, Maruti Suzuki has already obtained 3000 bookings for its Ciaz just after 3 days after bookings were opened.
Coming to the technical specifications, Maruti Ciaz would be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is powered with a 1.4-litre K Series engine (K14 VVT engine) coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission providing fuel efficiency of 20.73 kmpl. The diesel variant is powered with a 1.3-litre diesel engine coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission providing a high fuel efficiency of 26.21 kmpl.
Maruti Ciaz features large wheel base, longer in length, width and height than the other cars in this segment. Below is the chart of its dimensions (in mm).
