We’ve seen nearly disguised spyshots of the Maruti’s sub-4 metre compact crossover codenamed ‘YBA’ couple of months earlier, now this is the first time we’ve got photos of the upcoming YBA compact SUV on-test on public roads.
The YBA retain cues from the Suzuki iV-4 concept that was displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. As per AutoCarIndia, the YBA production version will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and is likely to be called Maruti iV4. This sub-four-metre long SUV will be packed with a lot of equipment to be takes on the likes of the Ford EcoSport.
Like the upcoming YRA premium hatchback, the YBA Compact SUV is expected to get Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine that is used in other Maruti vehicles. As far as petrol engines are concerned, the YBA will get Maruti’s K12 (1.2-litre) and K14 (1.4-litre) petrol engines. The company has postpone the 1.5-litre diesel engine’s launch to sometime 2018, thus, this engine could be used to power the YBA at a later date.
As said above, Maruti Suzuki is expected to unveil YBA compact SUV at Auto Expo 2016 in February-2016 and is estimated to have a price of around Rs 6-8 lakh (ex-showroom), when makes a debut in India.
