It looks like the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be shown at the IIFA Awards (International Indian Film Academy Awards) Ceremony which takes place on June 7, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – as revealed by Colors TV on its tweet.

Earlier the car was rumoured to call ‘A-Cross’ or SX4′, now with this promotional image of the event and the report from Zauba, suggest that Maruti is likely to stick to the original name of the car. Furthermore, it is clear that Maruti Suzuki wants to promote ‘S-Cross’ itself as a brand like what Pulsar is for Bajaj, thus, made ‘S-Cross’ as the 2015 IIFA title sponsor, to the such an extent Maruti nor Suzuki mentioned, even in small font.
According to Zauba.com, Maruti Suzuki has already exported the couple of S-Cross to Malaysia on May 26, 2015 for the event. The S-Cross premium crossover debut will be anchored by the “Gunday” duo Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and promises to be complete with mischief, humour and repartee that will have the audience in splits.
The S-Cross premium crossover is set to launch in coming weeks and will be sold at sold at the company’s premium range of dealerships, Nixa. It is reported to be offered in a choice of 1 petrol and 2 diesel engine options. The 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine found on the Ciaz will find its way to the S-Cross while its diesel counterparts will get Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine. These engines could be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox driving power to the front wheels of the car.
According to GaadiWaadi, the S-Cross will be available in a total of six colours – Silky Silver Metallic, Bison Brown Pearl Metallic, Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic, Arctic White Pearl, Galactic Grey Metallic and Boost Blue Pearl Metallic. It will get projector headlamps, LED DRLs, scuff plates, 16 inch alloy wheels, smart play infotainment system, multi functional steering wheel, keyless entry and black cladding.
The Maruti S-Cross is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster.
