Maruti Suzuki launched a new A-star priced at Rs. 3.66 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has launched an upgraded version of the A-star. Although the hatch has been on sale for three years now, it hasn’t been able to top the sales chart. The new version of the A-Star is priced between Rs 3.66 to Rs 4.47 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki will start its selling the new A-Star from January 27 and the new car is costlier on average by about Rs 1000.

“The smart modifications in the spiced-up A-star are in line with customer feedback and seek to enhance the overall look, feel and comfort of the buyers,” Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) chief general manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said.

Maruti Suzuki has revamped the interiors and added new colours to the offering. Besides, a new top-end variant, ZXi now gets a few more new features. There have been no changes in the engine department.

The company has exported over 2.81 lakh units so far to over 130 countries, primarily to the European markets such as the Netherlands, Italy, the UK, Spain and Germany. Other markets that have also contributed the car include Australia and South Africa.

  • LXi : Rs. 3.66 lakhs
  • VXi: Rs.3.97 Lakhs,
  • VXi Automatic: Rs.4.47 lakhs
  • ZXi: Rs. 4.22 lakhs
  • ZXi with airbags and ABS: Rs. 4.40 lakhs

The updated A-star is also offered in two new colours for 2012 – Pearl Metallic Brown and Glistening Grey. The ZXi variant now comes with airbags and ABS as an option, the difference being to the tune of Rs 18,000 between the two variants.
