India’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti is all set to regain its lost glory. Maruti India faces a huge drawback in the SUV and MUV segment. Pointing out the same was Maruti MD M Nakanishi who said that they currently stand with 18% market share due to their lack of proper presence in the SUV and MUV segment. However, with the upcoming launches next on cards, the auto major hopes to grab up to 50% market share in the domestic car industry by 2015. Maruti Suzuki India is on a massive major growth plan and hopes to fill in the gaps where it lags behind. There are two utility vehicles in the segment, out of which the outdated Maruti Gypsy is one. Maruti Grand Vitara that sits in the premium segment has lost out on its sales to the newer crop of utility vehicles in competition. However, a new MPV Maruti Ertiga is slated for a launch to make a comeback in the segment. Now, this Maruti Ertiga is expected to be launched at the 2012 Auto Expo. Speculations are rife that a new concept SUV might be showcased at the upcoming event.
Looks like, the auto major is gearing up for the upcoming Auto Expo with lot of exciting news on the platter. Two cars with the Suzuki’s lowest capacity engines of 660 cc will also be displayed at the 2012 Auto Expo. MSI finds this as the best opportunity than any to seek the public response on the two cars with a proven track record in the Japanese market. On an overall, a new Maruti MPV Ertiga, a new concept SUV are on the list of vehicles to be showcased at the Auto Expo.
