Maruti Suzuki plans to launch a range of new models in India over the next 2 years, according to a report by Emkay Global Financial Services.
The list of products currently in the pipeline includes the XL5 UV-styled hatchback, which is the 3-row hatchback based on WagonR, Jimny, and a new 4-meter long SUV that will compete with the Hyundai Creta.
In addition, Maruti Suzuki also plans to introduce an electric hatchback and an 800cc hatchback that could be the Alto’s replacement.
One of the models making the list is the S-Cross petrol, which is expected to launch next month. The study also notes that Maruti will bring back BS6-compliant diesel models. Cars such as the Ciaz, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and XL6 could get a 1.5-liter diesel engine compliant with the BS6.
