As we reported earlier, Skoda India is planning to launch Fabia hatchback around the corner called the Skoda Rapid positioned above the Fabia in its stable.
“Production of the SK251 (product code), or the Fabia sedan, will start soon at this plant. By that time we will increase production to about 500 units a day, from the present 450,” said a company official during a tour of the plant.
The Fabia sedan is expected to compete with the Maruti Suzuki SX4, the new Veran, new Ford Fiesta and the Honda City. The car will be offered in both petrol and diesel options.
Skoda Rapid is the Fabia sedan will be launched during Diwali season or may be around July-August and still we are not sure which of these are true, though the company did not confirm that.
