Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Baleno RS concept and the Ignis concept at the 2nd day of the Auto Expo 2016. Both the cars will be launched during the festive season during 2016 and will be made available for buyer through its NEXA channel.
Baleno RS will be powered by the all new 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol engine comes which comes with a Direct-Injection Turbo that produces a power of 112bhp and 175Nm of peak torque.
Although there is not much changes in the styling of the new Baleno RS, but the finer refinement of the curves adds a bit of aggression than the existing Baleno. On the other hand the interiors of the Baleno RS have received major upgrades including black interiors, minimal chrome inserts, front sports seats with cross stitched upholstery. The centre console retains the SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay while the multi-function steering wheel from the standard could have been replaced with a flat-bottom unit and also aluminium finish pedals to complete the sporty look.
Once launched, the Baleno RS join the list Fiat Abarth Punto, Ford Figo 1.5 and Volkswagen Polo GT in the 100+ bhp hatchback segment.
