India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki earlier today announced that they have already received more than 21,200 bookings for their newly launched small car Alto 800. The company has launched new Alto 800 in India on the 16th of this month with a base price tag of just Rs 2.44 lakhs. Being a 5-seater small car from Maruti Suzuki, India’s most loved car brand, coupled with the festive season of Diwali 2012, Maruti Suzuki is expecting to get even more bookings for the new Alto 800.
Showing the excitement, Maruti Suzuki India’s Chief Operating Officer (Marketing & Sales) Mayank Pareek said, “So far this festive season, there has been 15 per cent increase in overall bookings compared to last year. The growth is coming from across our models but the new Alto 800 has also received a very good response,” The all new car has been getting response both in urban and rural markets, “Out of that we have retailed 7,000 units,” Pareek adds. The car had touched the mark of 10,000 pre-launch bookings even before the prices were revealed.
He added that MSIL is happy with the way the new Alto 800 has been accepted by car buyers in India.
