Mahindra’s Quanto scheduled to launch this September

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. have officially confirmed that their Compact SUV will be called as ‘Quanto’.  M&M also said that  the company will launch much awaited Quanto in later September this year.

We have been constantly reporting about the Mahindra’s upcoming mini-Xylo MPV which has been spotted several times on Indian roads on trail-run and recently we also brought you the rendered images of the mini-Xylo. Now the Team-BHPforum member named GTO has managed to snap the clear pictures of the 7-seater mini utility vehicle which would be called as ‘Quanto’.

Mahindra has named the mini-MPV aka mini-Xylo or U203 as Mahindra Quanto, which follows company’s tradition of ending a vehicle’s name with ‘O’ (XUV5OO, Scorpio, Bolero, Verito, Xylo, Genio, Maxximo, Gio, Duro, Rodeo etc). If we are not wrong, clearly observe from the front bumper up till the second row, there are no differences between the Xylo and Quanto. As we had expected, length is lesser than 4-meters to avail the lesser excise duties.

As we reported earlier, the Quanto will come with a seven seat option (5 adults and 2 kids in the rear jump seats) but leaves no boot space in that case, however the last row of seats can be folded to be used as a boot-lid. Interiors will be the same as the ones found on the facelifted Xylo but the windows in the last row are butterfly windows. The spare wheel mounted on the rear gate gives it a muscular, SUV-like look and will house a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

From the images, the Mahindra Quanto looks production ready and we can expect it to be launched before or during Diwali with a price ranging from Rs 5-6 lakh. Top-end variant of the vehicle is likely to get all the advanced features including Airbags, ABS brakes, 6-spoke alloy wheels, airbags, steering-mounted controls for audio, Bluetooth compatibility, height-adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable lumbar support, reverse parking assist, center armrest for driver and first seat passenger.
