Mahindra launched the XUV Aero concept on the 2nd day of the Auto-Expo 2016. The Aero concept is the first ever to be completely styled at the companies design house at Kandivali, Mumbai and built by Pininfarina.
The XUV Aero is a coupe-inspired four-door crossover based on the same Cheetah concept as of the XUV 500. The styling of the coupe gets a sloping roofline that meets the horizontal tail lamps and a bumper with integrated exhausts, much like sportier crossovers from BMW and Mercedes. The coupe features new LED DRLs, headlamps, hood vents, all around body kit for a low stance and large alloy rims.
The XUV Aero is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine which is tuned for 210PS that accelerates from 0-100kmph in under six seconds. The modern combustion system with low pressure EGR adaptability has improved NVH and better fuel economy.
Anand Mahindra, chairman, Mahindra Group on the event of launch said –
“Mahindra is constantly striving to push the boundaries of technology and inn ovation while developing new mobility solutions for a rapidly evolving world. The Auto Expo is the perfect opportunity to showcase our new range of automotive products and we are particularly proud of the XUV Aero which represents a paradigm shift in our design philosophy.” Anand Mahindra, is confident that XUV Aero can go into mass production, depending upon on the feedback from the Indian car buyers.
