Mahindra XUV 500 bookings to reopen in 2 days, no W8 AWD variant though!

Mahindra XUV 500 - FrontView

Mahindra and Mahindra are playing a cautious game this time and all this to keep the consumers happy. Another two days from now, on January 25th, Mahindra India will re-open the flood gates for its flagship model Mahindra XUV 500 4×2 bookings, although limiting it for a period of just 10 days and February 3rd is when it will call off.

The auto major was crystal clear to drive the point home that the bookings are not meant for the Mahindra XUV 500 W8 AWD variant. All the same, 7200 bookings is the number the auto major has engraved in  its mind and hopes not to cross the limit or the stipulated January 3rd mark, whichever comes first.

The strategy game played by M&M does not end here. The car manufacturer is bent to make the offer all the more interesting incorporating the lucky draw as opposed to the booking order which usually takes the precedence. The potential buyers are chosen through a lucky draw excluding the human bias to the maximum possible extent with the help of the computer generated program which selects the buyer randomly.

The auto major has just clearly shown how brilliant it could get to milk the most from the consumers demands. It is not a well-kept secret that Mahindra and Mahindra offers the Mahindra XUV 500 W6 in the 4×2 variant and the W8 in both the two-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive options. But, the auto fans would know the exemplary demand for the two-wheel drive option as opposed to the four-wheel drive version of the car.

The Mahindra XUV 500 4×2 would become the first choice of many to meet the day-to-day urban car needs while the four-wheel drive option comes into use only to take upon the difficult terrains like the desert areas or to cover the mountain ranges which is its speciality and naturally leads to lesser demand as compared to the two-wheel drive car. And all this ultimately resulting to the bookings restricted for the Mahindra XUV 500 W8 and W6 4×2 variants alone, dropping the all-wheel drive variant out of the equation for now. Unlike before, the auto major hopes to introduce the Mahindra XUV 500 SUV in more cities extending it to the interior parts of the country offering it in 19 cities in all.
