Known internally as U301, the Mahindra TUV300 compact SUV have been spotted testing on Indian roads for couple of years now, no surprise then that the sightings have increased in frequency this year.

As the all-new Mahindra TUV300 is getting nearer to its debut, likely to take place in September-2015, today we have the clearest photos yet of the SUV, wearing very little camouflage. The only parts camouflaged are the side profile that too with nothing more than formal white wrap used to protect the metal panels from scratches before delivery.

All in all, we get a clear glimpse of this SUV’s design language. It’s evident that the TUV300 has a boxy design with a swept back headlamp clusters, five doors, a flat roof and a spare wheel mounted on the tail gate. The base variant is evident from the black bumpers, black door handles, black door mirrors, and steel wheels. Also note the absence of a spare wheel cover, at least on this base variant.

The TUV300 has a modern-looking dashboard and seating capacity for 7-people (5 adults + 2 jump seats). It is based on a new rugged hydroformed ladder frame chassis and measures under 4-meters in length. Powering the TUV300 will be a 3-cylinder ‘mHawk80′ diesel engine, and while not official, should make about 80 bhp and 240 Nm. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while an AMT could be offer as well.

Mahindra TUV300 is confirmed to hit showrooms by mid-September, with the expected price in the range of Rs 6.5 – 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Sadly, the TUV300 won’t be able to do any off-roading as Mahindra has ruled out a 4WD system due to lack of demand.
