Mahindra showcased the SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2016. SsangYong Tivoli was first introduced at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The Tivoli is a modern crossover inspired from SsangYong XIV Air and XIV Adventure concepts and will be targeted at a younger audience.
The international variant of the Tivoli is equipped with 7 air-bags and dual-zone climate control system, best in class infotainment and comfort features, it also gets a flat bottom setting wheel, steering mounted controls and much more. 40 per cent of the Tivoli’s body is made of AHSS (advanced high strength steel), which minimises impact on collision for better passenger safety, other safety features includes airbags, ABS, EBD, etc. Although the Indian variant might not have all the features of the existing variant but we might see most of them considering features that are offered on other compact SUV`s like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
The SsangYong Tivoli will be offered in petrol and diesel options, the 1.6-litre petrol engine will be capable of producing a peak power of 126 bhp and a 160 Nm peak torque. The Tivoli diesel will be powered by an e-XDi 160 1.6-litre diesel engine producing a peak power of 115 PS and 300 Nm peak torque at 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. The Tivoli measures 4,195mm in length, 1,795mm in width and 1,590mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm with a ground clearance of 167mm.
The final-spec regarding the engine and the features will only be revealed once the Tivoli is launched in Indian sometime this-year.
