Yet more spyshots of the Mahindra Quanto facelift (rumored to be called Mahindra Canto), have been appeared online – these photos confirm the availability of an automated manual transmission (AMT) on this compact SUV.
Evident in the front shot are the new (tooth) grille, redesigned front bumpers, restyled headlamps, which appear to have DRLs, bonnet has a scoop and more pronounced creases than before. Even rear is likely to get a redesigned bumpers and reworked tail lamps. The Canto is also expected to get alloy wheels of a different design.
Inside the cabin, the Quanto facelift will get revamped beige upholstery, reworked seats, new multifunction steering wheel, black center console, an armrest, touch-screen infotainment system and new dials for the instrument cluster. The company has reportedly updated the suspension on the Canto to reduce body roll.
Engine wise, it’s set to retain TUV 300’s 85 hp/230 Nm 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHAWK 80 turbocharged diesel engine. This unit will be offered in 5-speed manual as standard while the AMT gearbox will be available as option for an added convenience. The Quanto facelift or Canto will hit showrooms by the first half of 2016.
