Since a very long time, sources suggest that Mahindra 2-wheeler might yet again start working on the launch of the Mojo 300cc bike in Indian market and the bike might get to see the sunlight in next 12-18 months. It was first showcased in 2010 and ever since Mahindra has been postponing the launch. Now it is expected to launch the Mahindra Mojo 300 in India by 2014.
Basically, Mahindra Mojo 300 is based on Malaguti MR250, an Italian motorcycle with Mahindra badging. Earlier the company had worked hard for the redesign with the Italian design firm, Engines Engineering. The Mojo 300 features a 292cc, four stroke single cylinder engine that pumps out a peak power of 25.8 Bhp and a peak torque of 24 Nm. The liquid cooled engine runs on a 4 valve, DOHC layout with the fuel injection system from Ducati Energia. The bike comes with a six-speed manual transmission engine and with a kerb weight of 160 Kilograms, is one of the best in class power to weight ratio.
The bike would come with and radial tyres and large petal disc brakes, as large that back in 2010 it was claimed to be the largest in India. If launched, it will sit as the flagship motorcycle in Mahindra Two Wheelers’ line-up. The KTM Duke 200 and the Honda CBR250R are currently the two hot selling motorcycles in this segment, which will see the launch of the Hyosung GT250R in the coming weeks as the latest entrant. Other hot expectations are Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS, which might be seen running this week itself.
