Recently, our rendering artist Mohammed Afraz has spotted the autoSHIFT version of the upcoming Mahindra KUV100 NXT diesel testing in Mangalore. This will basically be a diesel-powered AMT variant of the car that will go on floors from early-2019. The car was spied in near-production form, having no camouflage or dressing.
There will be no significant changes on the design and features of the KUV100 NXT autoSHIFT diesel AMT compared to the stock model. However, an autoSHIFT badge will make an appearance on the tailgate of the vehicle. This was going by the pictures, as the test mile was spotted having one.
Engine-wise, the KUV100 NXT autoSHIFT diesel AMT will be powered by a 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel engine. This engine is capable of delivering 77 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission sourced from UK-based suppliers Ricardo.
Mahindra will also launch the eKUV100 around the same time here, so we can expect these changes to make a mark in the market. We can expect the KUV100 NXT autoSHIFT diesel AMT to come at a price point of Rs.7 lakh, rivalling the AMT versions of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10. As of now, the homegrown automaker is building up on launching the XUV700 premium SUV and the S201 compact SUV to our market soon.
